Youth Development Program is for anyone between the age of 12- 15 that have had completed one of our Intro/Learn to Row programs or has had a solid sculling experience with any other rowing clubs. The objective is for rowers to develop their skills to the point that they are capable and comfortable to join a competitive crew.
The emphasis is on rowing technique, small group, physical conditioning. The class is coached by Costel Mutescu, 2000 Sydney Olympian/ Head of RowAmerica Greenwich.
Enter the challenging and competitive world of youth racing! This competitive program is open to all boys and girls, lightweight and heavyweight, who wish to train to improve speed and skills as well as develop their true potential at high performance level. The program aims to develop rowing skills and team fundamentals and help rowers improve their performance at competition. We also offer help with college recruitment.
Teams will travel to both spring and fall regattas which may be local, regional or national (for those boats that qualify). In addition to the stated practice times, athletes will be expected to be available to load/unload the boat trailer both before and after regatta days.
Our middle school programs are designed to get youth on the water quickly, and prepare them for the next step. Sessions will include instruction on the fundamentals of rowing, taught at an age-appropriate pace. RowAmerica Greenwich coaching staff fosters a fun, energetic, and enthusiastic atmosphere for all levels of fitness and ability.
Both experienced rowers and those new to the sport of rowing will benefit from the extended practice sessions and additional time on the water. Our summer Rowing Programs are a great foundation for those who want to progress to the Racing Team or just stay in shape!
